Germany would edge France in extra time of the quarter-finals and meet Spain in the semi final, who also needed extra time to progress. Both of the winners, came from behind at half time. Germany won that semi final 25-24. Denmark edged Sweden 32-31 and Slovenia beat Norway. Denmark narrowly defeated Slovenia 31-30 in the semi final. Denmark won the final, building up a big lead in the first half.
