Men’s Event
The biggest surprise in the group stage was France only finishing fourth in Group A. Denmark topped the group with Egypt second. Germany won Group B, while presumed favourites Spain and Sweden finished third and fourth. Germany would edge France in extra time of the quarter-finals and meet Spain in the semi final, who also needed extra time to progress. Both of the winners, came from behind at half time. Germany won that semi final 25-24. Denmark edged Sweden 32-31 and Slovenia beat Norway. Denmark narrowly defeated Slovenia 31-30 in the semi final. Denmark won the final, building up a big lead in the first half.
🥇Denmark 🇩🇰
🥈Germany 🇩🇪
🥉Spain 🇪🇸

I put Spain as possible contenders. Germany were not someone I expected to challenge

Denmark celebrated another gold

Women’s Event
Matchday one saw Brazil upset Spain, and Spain's poor form continued as they were eliminated after losing to AngolaFrance dominated Group B, finishing unbeaten. In Group A, three teams won four games and three teams won one. Norway won the group by virtue of head-to-head goal difference ahead of Sweden and Denmark. That group produced three semi finalists, with France also making it. France came from behind to beat Sweden in extra time, while Norway, as they did in the group, beat Denmark to make the final. In the final they were too much for France, winning 29-21.
🥇Norway 🇳🇴
🥈France 🇫🇷
🥉Denmark 🇩🇰

I mentioned the strong record that Norway have over France recently

A strong finish from a Spain attacker
