In the second quarter, Hiroki Muto (Japan) was the fifth seed but lost in the opening round to Itay Shanny (Israel). In the opening round, the United States were also upset in a shootout with Indonesia. Both Great Britain and Indonesia were eliminated in the quarter-finals by Mexico and Turkey respectively. Korea best India 6-2 and the Netherlands edged France. Korea and Netherlands both scored five in the semis to make it through to the final. In the third-place playoff, Mexico defeated Turkey. 4-2 up going into the final set, Turkey looked primed to equal it up but a five scored on their third arrow cost them and the bronze went to Mexico. In the final, the Netherlands took the opening set but a ten in the final shot of the second set gave Korea the second set. An errant six gave away the third set from the Netherlands and they sealed gold with a fourth set of 39.
