Men’s Event
The swimming phase was led by Amro Elgeziry (United States), almost a second ahead of James Cooke (Great Britain) and Joe Choong (Great Britain). Choong beat Alexander Lifanov (Russia) to take the fencing event. That meant Choong led Jung Jinhwa (South Korea) by 19 points entering the showjumping. There were three perfect scores in the show jumping but all from competitors who were a long way from contending. Adam Marosi (Hungary) went best of the top contenders, only scoring three penalty points. Jinhwa would score seven faults, but Choong led having only scored fourteen. That meant Choong led by 12 points from Jinhwa. Jan Kuf (Czech Republic) was a further seven back. Choong was first out and had a 9.2-second advantage over Jun Woongtae (South Korea) who edged both Jung and Kuf at 1200m. By 2000m, the gap had dropped to 6.1 seconds from Choong to Kuf with Ahmed Elgendy (Egypt) mere tenths back. The two would leave the shooting range together with 800m to go. They would still be tied at the hips with 400m to go when Choong would start to accelerate, creating a gap of 4.94m seconds.

Women’s Event
The swimming saw five women within 0.55 seconds of each other, led by Gulnaz Gubaydullina (Russia). She would be tied on 296 with Michelle Gulyas (Hungary). The fencing was won by Annika Schleu (Germany) despite being beaten on the day by Kim Seehe (South Korea). The best run on the day come from Elena Micheli (Italy) who won six straight. It meant after two events Schleu led by 24 to Uliana Batashova (Russia) with Seehe three behind. Laura Asadauskaite (Lithuania) and Gintare Venckauskaite (Lithuania) were the two riders to score perfect rounds. Both Schleu and Gubaydullina rode Saint Boy, but could not get the horse round so were eliminated. At the end of the riding event it was Batashova in first, Seehe ten points behind. In third was Sarolta Kovacs (Hungary) two ahead of Alice Soltero (France) with a further two back to Kate French (Great Britain). In the laser run, it was French who led into the second shooting ahead of Kovacs and Batashova. Kovacs was first to lead ahead of French and Batashova. Entering the third shooting it was French leading with a big gap over Soltero and Kovacs. French would leave ahead of Kovacs with Batashova back in third. Into the final shoot, French would again leave in first with a massive gap over Kovacs and Asadauskaite. French would take victory over the fast finishing Lithuanian by a massive 15 seconds.
