Women’s Individual All-Around
Sofia Raffaeli (Italy) led qualification by more than two points. She led the ribbon and hoop events. Darja Varfolomeev (Germany) qualified second after winning the ball and club events. In the final, Varfolomeev led the hoop event from Boryana Kaleyn (Bulgaria) and they were the top two in the ball event. Varfolomeev led the club event from Raffaeli. Kaleyn would win the ribbon event ahead of Varfolomeev.

I thought this would come down to Varfolomeev and Raffaeli. Kaleyn broke into the party but Varfolomeev was dominant
Women’s Group All-Around
Italy led the hoops qualification and it was Ukraine who led the ball and ribbons qualification. Bulgaria led qualification overall by over a point. Scores would drop in the final. China led the after the hoops round ahead of Ukraine and Italy. A repeat performance from qualifying in the ball and ribbons would have seen Ukraine take gold. Bulgaria would lead score best on the ball and ribbon round in the final but it was not enough to win them a medal. China took gold with a total score of 69.8, over a point ahead of Israel.

Bulgaria would have won gold if they repeated their qualification performance in the final. Israel were not as strong as expected. I thought China would be best of the rest over Italy and Spain.
