Women’s Duet
Liuyi/Qianyi (China) led after the technical routine with a score of 276. Alexandri/Alexandri (Austria) were in second on 267. Behind them, de Brouwer/de Brouwer (Netherlands) and Shortman/Thorpe (Great Britain) both scored 264. Lamothe/Simoneau (Canada) scored a brilliant 290 in the freestyle routine but a poor technical routine saw them out of the medals. The Chinese pair would score 289 with the Austrians on 288. That left the door open with Netherlands scoring 293 and Great Britain scoring 294 to break onto the podium.

I called the first two standings after the technical routine. The surprise came as Austria were not as strong in the free routine. I pointed out Canada and Britain as threats to the medal places. Britain won a medal and Canada showed their ability in the freestyle.
Women’s Team
China took the lead after the technical routine by 25 points from Spain. They would win the free section with the United States going into second. The acrobatic section was closer but again it was China who led. United States were second to guarantee themselves silver. France would get a greater score than Spain but it was not enough to overtake them for bronze.
🥇China 🇨🇳
🥈United States 🇺🇸
🥉Spain 🇪🇸
I expected China to dominate here and they duly obliged. Italy did struggle in the free as predicted. United States managed to outperform Japan who I expected more from.
