Men’s Event
Qualification unfolded as expected, as it looked to be between three athletes. Ivan Litvinovich (Belarus) opened with a 63.420. Yan Lengyu (China) went 61.420 then improved to 62.220. Wang Zisai (China) started on 60.950 before improving to 62.230. Zisai took first in the final with a 61.890. Compatriot Lengyu could only go second with 60.950. Litvinovich took the lead with a massive 63.090.
🥇Ivan Litvinovich 🇧🇾
🥈Wang Zisai 🇨🇳
🥉Yan Lengyu 🇨🇳

I underestimated Litvinovich because he hadn’t been competing as consistently as the Chinese pair. His class told but I do wonder if he can do that again in Los Angeles. The two Chinese athletes were well matched and I edged to Lengyu but it was Zisai who was stronger throughout the competition.
Women’s Event
Viyaleta Bardzilouskaya (Belarus) led the first round of qualification from Hu Yicheng (China), but Zhu Xueying (China) ultimately topped qualification with a 56.720. In the final, Bardizilouskaya took the early lead with a 56.060, while Xueying only managed to score a 55.510. Bryony Page (Great Britain) went into the lead with a 56.480. It was gold as Yucheng could not get anywhere near the required score meaning China missed out on the medals.
🥇Bryony Page 🇬🇧
🥈Viyaleta Bardzilouskaya 🇧🇾
🥉Sophiane Methot 🇨🇦
Page had the ability to get gold. However if you had told me her score beforehand, I would have edged to Xueying. I did not mention Bardzilouskaya nor Methot as a major danger so it was a bit of a surprise
